Job Description

Northvolt has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Specialist to join our bold team of Supplier Quality. We are continuously building a team of Quality Engineers with industry background and you will play an key role in quality assuring and developing Northvolt’s worldwide supplier base.

You will be in charge of the supplier quality related activites in the Ett factory and need to have experience in quality management, especially in non-conformity management and root cause analysis. Knowledge in quality tools are required.

You will play an important role to lead and co-ordinate quality activities with the suppliers and have a deep understanding of working and cooperating cross-functionally in a multicultural environment with Northvolt supply chain, process engineering, R&D as well as production.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate the daily supplier quality activites at Northvolt production site to maintain and develop a world class supplier base
• Set up quality monitoring procedures, evaluate supplier quality performance and establish improvement plans when needed
• Maintain a supplier database and scorecards, including performance evaluations
• Lead the charge back process with suppliers
• Defining, implementing and documenting measurement methods and controls
• Investigate supplier quality and delivery issues to identify opportunities for improvement
• Communicate with supplier regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships
• Manage the non-conformance process, develop and validate corretive actions with suppliers
• Esclate negative supplier quality performance to the central Supplier Quality Development Engineer
• Support factory quality daily operations when required
• When needed, support supplier non-conformity management and escalation process
• Work across many parts of the organisation, collaborating with R&D team, process engineering, supply chain, production and all suppliers.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

• BSc or MSc degree in Materials/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Chemical Engineering or similar
• Experience of supplier quality management in relevant industry
• Quality management systems knowledge, e.g. IATF16949, ISO 9001
• Experience in developing processes, standards, procedures and documentation to support efficient Supplier Quality Management
• Familiar with Control Plans, FMEA, SPC and Quality troubleshooting
• Project management skills and a successful track record of leading quality improvements in manufacturing and with suppliers is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

• Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations from time to time
