We’re looking for a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join one of the best firms in the do-gooder business in our Operations, Shared Services Area.

So that’s us. Now about the work:

  • The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is part of our Shared Services Area -- composed of five specializations: finance, operations, people, business strategy, and equity & anti-racism. We ensure M+R is positioned to deliver outstanding services to clients such as Planned Parenthood, American Cancer Society, NRDC, and many more.
  • Day-to-day, we focus on legal and regulatory compliance and risk management, benefits administration, human resources and operational policies and procedures, contract processing, and IT tools and security.

Here’s what you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Analyze the ongoing financial performance of the firm and its individual lines of business.
  • Develop models to assess the economic impact of business decisions, such as those related to staffing, compensation, and hourly client rates.
  • Run M+R’s annual budgeting and revenue goal-setting processes, including ongoing budget management.
  • Create financial reports and analyses, and make financial recommendations to help the firm make sound business decisions.
  • Facilitate meetings related to the financial strategy of the firm and individual Areas.
  • Own firmwide financial communications. 
  • Own M+R’s business planning software, Workday Adaptive Planning, including knowledge of all aspects of the system, data accuracy, and consultant relationship. 

Skills and experiences required for this role:

  • Minimum of five years of finance-related work, including at least three years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience using a CPM (Corporate Performance Management) tool to manage budgets and build reports. 
  • Proficiency using Excel for financial analysis.
  • Experience communicating financial concepts, report highlights and recommendations to a broad audience
  • Demonstrated experience as a strong cross-functional leader able to build relationships with internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft meeting agendas to identify project goals and ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Ability to communicate persuasively in a way that articulates your ideas and conveys your expertise, whether on the phone, in-person, or in writing.

Skills and experiences that are preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with Adaptive, Unanet, and Microsoft Dynamics SL.
  • Experience with using formulas in Google Sheets.
  • Experience doing financial planning and analysis for a professional services firm.

Salary, benefits, and some perks:

  • The salary for this position is $95,000 with eligibility for an approximate $15,300 year-end bonus depending on start date and firmwide performance. As part of M+R’s commitment to compensation equity and transparency, we have a no negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality. If your years of experience for this position are more than what is required above, we will offer a slightly higher base salary up to $104,500.

The fine print:

Due to COVID, our offices are currently closed. Our primary concern is the care and health of our employees, and will not reopen our offices until it is safe to do so. When M+R reopens its offices, this position will work out of one of the following M+R offices:
