Join AutoScout24 and play a key role as our Technical Program Manager. In this role you will manage programs of larger-scale business-critical projects through every stage of development, from idea to design to clean up after rollout. You will coordinate across multiple teams and groups, who have stakes in your projects. Your strong technical background helps you to understand and manage technical dependencies, work closely with deeply technical people to build a global system design, evolve and plan the roadmap and align with non-technical stakeholders to ensure teams are on track. You hunt risks, hidden assumptions and complexity and ensure awareness and proper mitigation. You interpret or translate that complexity into an easy-to-understand format to help leaders and managers make better decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Facilitate technical design
  • Work with architects and key builders to finalize the design and capture it in design doc, considering aspects like scalability, accessibility, testability, etc. 
  • Ensure success metrics can be measured to inform future decisions. 
  • Ensure that all the interfaces are signed off on by all involved teams. 
  • Develop project plans
  • Collect requirements, clarify objectives and scope of program release with business leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Work with Architects / Technical Leads to break upcoming release into tasks. 
  • Determine effort, owner and timelines for each task & identify dependencies. 
  • Work with teams to which dependencies exist to ensure commitment for delivery by envisioned timelines. 
  • Work with stakeholders & implementing teams across the organization to identify potential risks, their impact and likelihood and define mitigation plans and owners. 
  • Stakeholder alignment & tracking delivery
  • Monitor implementation progress and make transparent to stakeholders & upper management. 
  • Track capacity allocation and prevent capacity bottlenecks. 
  • Ensure mitigation of any risks. 
  • Make consequences of priority shifts in involved teams transparent and mitigate. 

What you should bring

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering 
  • Experience working in a cross-functional multi-team setup with technical and non-technical contributors
  • Sense of ownership and accountability for program success 
  • Structured and data-driven approach to decision making 
  • Excellent English 
  • Effective verbal and written communication to technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Strong risk and project management skills: planning of resources, deliverables, timelines, mapping & mitigation of risks and dependencies 
  • Ability to lead without authority. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. Ability to build effective working relationships with people across all levels of the company 
  • Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking 
  • Deep understanding of IT systems design and integration principles. 
  • Experience in software program management and/or engineering management is a plus 
  • Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems is a plus
