Our North East Area in Jersey City has an exciting opportunity on the Airfreight team to join as Area Air Logistics Systems Manager.
Your Role
This role is critical in the support of our day-to-day operations ensuring that we are efficient, productive and profitable. Identifying necessary development and training needs. This individual will be heavily involved with information gathering, defining processes as well as best practices across the Air Logistics operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and optimization of NAM Air Logistics products and process initiatives across all area CCL’s, OCC’s and RCC’s
- Analysis, map and review of organizational set up of branches within the North East area – documenting the current and future requirements
- Analysis, map and review the operational processes – assisting to identify correct timers and any gaps between local, national and global process – proposing improvements to processes and systems to optimize productivity
- Training of operations and management – live and/or via web-based software
Based on analysis of business / operational needs and demands, helping to define and write Business Functional Requirements documents which can be submitted to HQ for programming
- Project management of new solutions, enhancements and processes which includes review of documentation, testing and local implementation
- Review and analyze all area team operations to ensure efficient use of systems and databases, coordinating with area ZAQ as required, driving/monitoring KPI’s associated
- Assist in testing of bug releases, functionalities and enhancements
- Work with the NAM Processes, Systems and Training Team
- Additional projects which may be assigned from time to time, also driven nationally through RA-OS
- Manage special projects as assigned, especially for eTouch and Automation strategies
Your Skills and Experiences
- Have a background in airfreight procedures, with experience within the KN organization,
- Believe that process improvement has a direct impact upon productivity and quality,
- Have an advanced knowledge of the KN airfreight forwarding applications,
- Be able to manage projects and to co-ordinate remotely the activities of other people,
- Be able to co-operate closely with others
- Possess initiative, and look pro-actively for practical solutions,
- Be prepared to travel and sometimes work irregular hours,
- Be able to communicate clearly, confidently and persuasively
- Be fluent in the English language,
- Be able to think analytically and systematically
