The Overland Coordinator is responsible for coordination of all aspects of domestic and NAFTA shipments.
Your Role
The person for this position will need to have knowledge of TSA requirements for First mile of Air Export pick ups. Will need to possess prior experience quoting LTL, FTL, Stepdecks, Flatbeds both TSA and Non TSA. Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to solve problems as they arise. This position will be dealing with internal and external customers so must be able to multi-task. Previous freight forwarding experience preferred.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall customer service and support to ensure excellent customer relations.
- Preparing necessary documentation for processing of shipments (trucking orders, Bill of Lading, Manifest, Insurance Policy, etc.)
- Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery.
- Responsible for cost controls for each shipment and rating.
- Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
- Manage and support other projects as assigned
Your Skills and Experiences
- College Education preferred
- 2-4 years of transportation industry experience
- Experience with road and rail logistics preferred
- Good knowledge of shipping/receiving, general cargo and other industry related information
- Knowledge of transport documentation requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both customers and internal personnel
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, web-based and job specific software applications
