The Subscriber Services protocol team in Juniper’s Westford, MA location is looking for a self-driven, motivated software developer to design, develop and support network protocol software by developing, enhancing, and maintaining software components for various subscriber applications.

Candidate must have strong communication skills and be comfortable collaborating and working with multiple cross-functional teams to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

As an individual contributor in the subscriber services protocols team, you will be responsible to:

  • design and develop cloud-based control plane software for high capacity internet edge routers
  • work closely with other team members, system test and product management to drive engineering solutions to completion
  • design, document, implement, and maintain control plane protocol software
  • develop well-written functional and design specifications, unit test plans
  • successfully deliver high quality software for JUNOS releases
  • analyze and solve problems reported by customers and system test

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with developing applications using cloud-based technologies such as Containerization (i.e., Docker), Orchestration (i.e., Kubernetes, etc.), Databases (i.e., Redis, etc.), Message bus (i.e., Kafka, etc.) and all associated open-source tooling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes DevOps and/or Certified Kubernetes Administrator a plus.
  • BS/MS in CS/CE or similar field, with professional software development experience
  • Strong C and/or C++ programming skills
  • Strong Python scripting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Discipline to follow software engineering principles and processes
  • Fundamental understanding of computer networks, networking operating systems
  • Desire to pursue a career in software development and networking
  • Knowledge of UNIX/FreeBSD/Linux operating systems, inter-process communication
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles
