Diageo Paid Social Manager, North America

Reporting to the Digital Director, North America, we have a role for a Paid Social Manager to join our agile, creative and resourceful In-House Paid Social team. The team merges the art and science of paid media and creative content to optimize multi-million-dollar campaigns and drive tangible business results on social platforms across a set of US and Canada brands.

Based in our New York Offices and working hand and hand with the Central Media Team (CMT) and brand management teams, the role will be wide and varied which means you will be liaising with a large number of both internal (e.g. brand, ecommerce, ops, legal, measurement, etc.) and external (e.g. media, talent, creative agencies) stakeholders, therefore exceptional communication and organizational skills will be key.

Responsibilities:

Creative and Media Management:

  • Manage paid media buying, strategy, and planning for Facebook / Instagram, Pinterest, and other Social Media platforms. Inclusive, but not limited to buying, tagging, optimization, and reporting for a set of portfolio brands.
  • Plan campaign strategies and tactics closely with Brand teams directly internal Central Media Team, as well as media and creative agency partners.
  • Lead and manage daily media optimizations, collaborating with brand teams and their respective creative agencies to lead social creative optimization and recommendation process.
  • Ideation of social media innovation and learning agenda across portfolio, brands, and social media partners.
  • Help manage the administration and billing operations of Diageo North America infrastructure across social media accounts

Measurement, Data and Analytics:

  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform planning and optimization for future media and content strategies
  • Lead testing and analysis of social media campaign performance metrics, using internal social analytics and ROI measurement tools to optimize performance and meet business objectives
  • Contribute to Diageo social media strategies, and set learning agenda within social with brand teams
  • Collect and present all key analysis and takeaways with corresponding insights delivered in regular social reporting delivered directly to brand teams (concise, visual, data-driven and actionable)
  • Partner with measurement team to evolve MMM ROI analysis of paid social media

Global Ways of Working:

  • Evangelize relevant and notable learnings, best practices and ways of working with other markets (i.e. APAC, EU, LAC, Africa), feeding into best practice tool kits
  • Evaluation and feedback on internal social media analytics tools
  • Regular input on content and media tagging and reporting frameworks

Skills:

Required:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in paid social media; preferably directly managing paid social for a major consumer packaged goods, alc bev, or luxury brand
  • BA or equivalent with emphasis on coursework in marketing, advertising, business; preferably a degree in economics, mathematics or statistics
  • Expert Excel skills and a comfort with pivot tables
  • Experience in using social media analytics platforms such as Sprinklr or native channel analytics such as Facebook Insights/Business Manager, Pinterest, etc.
  • Proven ability of managing a large volume of projects and requests, while knowing how to prioritize workload

Preferred:

  • Knowledge, love and thirst for social data and the impact it can have on the business
  • Understanding of basic business and marketing strategy, inclusive of eCommerce and CRM
  • Work with large data sets
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability
  • Deep understanding of social media data caveats by channel and how these caveats can affect reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidently lead debrief sessions, often to a senior audience
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment
  • Energetic, relentless drive to succeed, TEAM player
  • Used to working with a variety of stakeholders and building relationships
