Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be joining Business Intelligence Services team within CIBC’s Enterprise Data and Services Technology department (EDST). As a Senior Consultant, Application Development, you’ll assist in developing and managing the implementation of BI applications and components, as well as manage evolution of various BI platforms. A primary objective for this role is to support Operational Capability Reporting (OCR) application. This application is servicing multiple Business User groups and Executives in reporting and analytics, including Marketing, Retail Operations, Client Experience, and others. The desired skills include Oracle DB, Cognos, SAS, Tableau, Alteryx, MS SQL Server. Cloud development exposure is an asset. The successful candidate is also expected to seek and promote continuous improvements in the solution and related processes. In addition, aside from the OCR application, the candidate is expected to participate in managing the other BI services supported by the team, including Tableau, SAS, Alteryx, Thoughtspot, - to ensure stable operations and continuous improvement.
How You'll Succeed
- Programming Skills: Develop reports and related data management components. Assist in solution design improvements. Assist in BI platform management and evolution.
- Systems Implementation: Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform BI applications and services.
- Planning and Coordination: Effectively interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications in collaboration with various teams.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience 6+ years’ practical BI and data management experience. Good understanding of BI services and underlying infrastructures. This role requires effective solution and design expertise needed to solve complex problems. Ideally, you are the one with:
- Strong experience in Cognos report development (version 11 and up)
- Strong experience in database management preferably Oracle;
- Experience in SAS, Tableau, Alteryx;
- Ability to problem-solve independently;
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, applications and services;
- High performance, complex/distributed solutions;
- Financial services experience is nice to have;
- Cloud experience (especially Azure) is nice to have.
