The PR Manager represents the voice of the brand across a variety of audiences and stakeholders, with primary focus driving corporate marcomms strategy and positioning externally. This role is responsible for development and driving of durable programs and initiatives to position Zulily as an authority on our core customer, Mom, and using customer insights and data to create surgical corporate PR programs that drive brand value across Marketing channels, educate stakeholders and manage corporate reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategize, develop and execute short and long term PR plans for Zulily corporate reputation, technology, vendor and employer brand.
- Drive corporate reputation, technology, vendor and employer brand PR project management and support overall PR team with special projects.
- Identify, strategize, develop and execute programmatic to increase brand value via earned media to increase SEO and reverse cannibalization across paid marketing channels.
- Influence, collaborate, and support, with cross-functional teams to help drive overall integrated PR efforts and the company’s Marketing goals.
- Liaise with digital and social to develop strategies that promote Zulily as a leader in being the authority on Mom (core customer).
- Drive process improvements to innovation, integrated marketing via the PR lens, and holistic digital/content strategy.
- Manage and provide strategic counsel to drive day-to-day relationship with PR agency to enable collective success mapped to KPIs.
- Develop launch strategies, press releases, presentations, pitches, briefing memos and messaging documents.
- Mine, analyze, and extrapolate newsworthy insights from internal, secondary/third-party data to derive actionable media strategy and build culture of experimentation.
- Accountable for metrics and reporting associated with all programs and projects; document workflows and processes.

Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience managing highly complex campaigns, projects, programs with a marketing and/or communications led objective, preferably within e-commerce
- Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and project management skills
- Adept at prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder initiatives, providing direction when needed and removing obstacles to get work done
- Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, and present to large groups building consensus, engagement, and driving positive impact through our Purpose & Principles
- Self-starter with strong bias for action and solution orientation for difficult problems and is able to work in an environment where at times programs may be new, innovative and ambiguous to create workable plans that are
- Exhibits an entrepreneurial mindset and is able to uncover opportunity areas, develop a plan, and then execute cross-functionally and breakdown siloes
Preferred
- Familiar with A/B testing and building up testable marketing communications programs
- Familiar with SEO foundational elements and optimization (non-technical) and appetite to learn in
- In-depth knowledge of public relations, subject matter expert, draws on expertise to improve programs, projects, processes, etc.
- Content strategy and storytelling background integrating marketing levers into marketing communications programs, projects or initiatives
