The Opportunity

The Director of Process Engineering will be responsible for a large Engineering organization across QVC, Zulily, and HSN. This organization will comprise of Systems/Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Fulfillment Center Design, Process Engineering, and Fulfillment Center Controls. This team will also be responsible for a majority of Project Management stemming from the Operations Project Portfolio. 

Your Impact

  • Lead the team to deliver future Fulfillment expansions through design, innovations, and process changes. This person will responsible for strategic decisions regarding physical process changes within our Fulfillment Centers and will support the requirements of all Leaders within the Operations Organization.
  • Manage a CAPEX budget across Operations and Fulfillment of $30M to $150M annually. CAPEX spend will span across projects for multiple Fulfillment Centers or the design/build of Fulfillment Centers
  • Manage a large run/operate budget for the FC Network.
  • Responsible for all Engineering responsibilities for a Fulfillment organization as large as 10 domestic FCs and larger than a 10M sq. ft. footprint. 
  • Lead a team of Engineers that are capable of designing Fulfillment Center processes and storage space from a green field at scale > 1M sq. ft.
  • Lead a team of Engineers in the development and improvement of processes through efficient designs of MHE, storage media, and physical flow that accomplish ever changing and high growth business objectives.
  • Point of Contact to manage relationships for all critical vendors within the Fulfillment organization.
  • Develop conceptual design of facilities, equipment, and business process based on business requirements and directly oversee implementation
  • Managing FC site level change management projects that either physically alter equipment or modify process to improve capacity, quality, or efficiency.
  • Partner closely with FC leaders to ensure innovations are implemented in full and non-exempt employees are trained.
  • Solicit opportunities and performance improvements from both leaders and operators while spending time on the shop floor.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering or Operations Research strongly preferred), or related technical disciplines is required. 
  • 10+ years business experience, preferably with ownership of P&L or customer facing/revenue generating responsibilities
  • Experience in a variety of functions including some of; transportation, Process Engineering, Project Management, Inbound Operations, Outbound Operations, Capital Projects or P&L
  • Previous experience in a highly mechanized/automated e-commerce/production environment
  • Metrics driven mindset combined with customer service obsession
  • Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Experience innovating, growing, building or restructuring showing an ability to modify and improve – we move quickly and rely on being nimble as our business grows
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
  • Highest levels of integrity and ethics
