About the Role

Purpose of the role

The overall purpose of the role to provide central risk management, control oversight and SOX governance over Diageo’s global business shared services, markets or Group Functions and support the Management in delivering best-in-class control environment, increase control and compliance awareness and coordinate / ensure smooth delivery of internal control procedures. 

Scope of the role

Risk Management & Controls Junior Manager role is to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley s404 compliance through global Control Assurance and Risk Management processes.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To lead the Control & Audit compliance agenda within Group Functions
  • To support the Management in delivering best-in-class control environment, increase control and compliance awareness and coordinate / ensure smooth delivery of internal control procedures
  • Educate senior stakeholders on agenda items owned, to strengthen the control environment of Diageo at its core
  • Provide management support during internal and external audit

This role is required to collaborate closely with stakeholders at various seniority levels across the organisation, Markets and Group Functions and internal & external auditors.

Accountabilities

  • Managing a team and acting as a line manager for the team including end-to-end people management responsibilities for the direct reports assigned to you
  • Support and hold the Diageo Budapest / Group Functions / in-market teams to account to achieve flawless delivery of internal audit cycle steps (mapping, scoping, test of design and effectiveness). Proactively participates in audit issue management process (i.e. documentation, remediation action follow up, reporting and re-testing), reporting, timely and accurate documentation in RSA (integrated risk management system) without adverse impact on the internal audit rating.
  • Ensure aligned and streamlined internal audit methodology / communications structure / market reporting across Diageo Budapest, markets and Group Functions are embedded to achieve more timely and insightful controls & compliance information for stakeholders.
  • Support new migration pipeline into Diageo Budapest, markets and Group Functions from a controls & compliance perspective (Control mapping, assessment update, warranty testing, etc.).
  • Coordination of the tasks of Risk & Control specialists/analysts. Provide people management support for own Team.
  • Support the Diageo Budapest compliance and ethics agenda to ensure exemplary behaviours and compliance across the business with global policies and guidelines.

About You

Experience required/Skills/capabilities/Languages

  • University / College degree in accountancy / finance / business
  • Excellent English knowledge
  • Experience in full cycle people management is highly desirable
  • Audit experience (internal/external) and/or SOX experience is an advantage but can be replaced by thorough accountancy / finance / controlling / FMCG business / shared service process understanding (min. 3 - 5 years)
  • Ability to identify risks and can apply them to broad areas
  • Ability to communicate and co-ordinate with different stakeholders in an effective way
  • Good ability on prioritization, urgency, problem solving and decision making
