As part of Zulily’s PR [external communications] team, the PR Program Manager II, will test, iterate, launch and manage communication programs. Current initiatives include: a new content supply chain program designed leveraging blogger content and building a Zulily community of content contributors, building a vendor brand offering program where we market directly to vendors and lead management of PR campaigns [projects] cross-functionally. This role will operate at both a strategic level in critical pilot program development as well as highly cross-functional and tactical, as needed. This role will report into the Director of Brand & Communications.

In this role, with your passion for marketing communications and project and program management, you will help design and implement a set of robust programs/projects to build and increase brand authority and corporate reputation among prospective and existing customers, vendor partners, and content contributors.

These programs and projects will address stakeholder onboarding and education, differentiation, consideration, and engagement. This role will require bias for action, high judgement, solution orientation and process improvement. Creative and forward-thinking in your approach to addressing big challenges and embracing novel solutions to scale will be critical. In this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator, written, verbal, and otherwise, and be able to work well with internal and external stakeholders, vendor partners, content contributors, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and operationalize the designs, direction and roadmap for prescribed programs and projects, and processes
  • Leverage channel owners, market research, customer insights and other quantitative and qualitative inputs to identify new opportunities, as applicable
  • Partners across the company to help galvanize resources, seek diverse perspectives, to build and execute on assigned programs and projects
  • Defines requirements and liaises across respective cross functional partners, including Creative, Tech, Merchandising requests, etc. Produces business cases for new opportunities/features
  • Stays curious and connected on all internal and external data to find opportunities – white space – leverage, with our existing programs and opportunities for new programs
  • Communicate progress and reports on our programs and initiatives to stakeholders
  • Develop and nurture relationships with content contributors to further experiment and test into content supply chain
  • Manage PR campaign initiatives process, timeline creation, decision making tree, execution of PR platforms/tentpoles. From conducting and fielding research, to sourcing and managing partnerships, vendors and associated budget for consumer communications efforts, including influencers, sponsored content, and event contractors, when applicable. 
  • Accountable for metrics and reporting associated with all programs and projects; document workflows and processes

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience managing highly complex campaigns, projects, programs with a marketing and/or communications led objective, preferably within e-commerce
  • Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and project management skills
  • Adept at prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder initiatives, providing direction when needed and removing obstacles to get work done
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, and present to large groups building consensus, engagement, and driving positive impact through our Purpose & Principles
  • Self-starter with strong bias for action and solution orientation for difficult problems and is able to work in an environment where at times programs may be new, innovative and ambiguous to create workable plans that are
  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial mindset and is able to uncover opportunity areas, develop a plan, and then execute cross-functionally and breakdown siloes

Preferred

  • Familiar with A/B testing and building up testable marketing communications programs
  • Familiar with SEO foundational elements and optimization (non-technical) and appetite to learn in
  • In-depth knowledge of public relations, subject matter expert, draws on expertise to improve programs, projects, processes, etc.
  • Content strategy and storytelling background integrating marketing levers into marketing communications programs, projects or initiatives
