As a member of Scotia Digital DevOps team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Continous Integration and Deployment (CICD) solutions. We are looking for individuals with the ability to communicate effectively and work closely with other specialist teams in the bank to create technical solutions.This role will provide you the opportunity to sharpen your technical and analytical skills as part of a diversely talented team committed to delivering professional products. You will play an active role in the future of the bank by contributing in enterprise wide projects that span multiple cutting edge technologies and public cloud infrastructures that will have a direct impact on Scotiabank's customers.
In this role you will.....
- Mentor, teach and enable - clear obstacles and make room for incredible work
- Utilize you experience creating large scale applications – ideally building highly scalable web farms on Unix/Linux platforms entirely from infrastructure as code
- Measure everything and always look to improve engineering productivity and quality through automation
- Work closely with a team of smart, passionate people to creatively solve problems that may at first seem insurmountable
- Work with banking and compliance requirements and have strong desire to let machines fully manage them
- Inspire and influence leaders from the bank IT of a new way of shipping software through Continuous Delivery
- Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with our risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits, and communicate it throughout the team.
- Create an environment in which your team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to risk and compliance
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Experience in the administration of build tools for continuous integration (e.g. GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, and Nexus)
- Ability to work with configuration and orchestration tools to automate deployment delivery such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
- Familiarity with container-based virtualization technology such as Docker
- Fluency in scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, or Python
- Experience with public cloud solutions like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- High level Unix/Linux administration skills
