In the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Teacher to work in Rosenstiel Med Science Bldg. The Teacher TP plans, organizes, and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. More specifically, the incumbent plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.

Develops comprehensive and effective work and lesson plans. Identifies and selects different instructional resources to meet students’ varying educational needs. Provides a syllabus of course material before the start of the course. Takes daily attendance, and provides classroom instruction. Administers quizzes and tests to students on course materials, and monitors progress of individual students. Provides homework assignments on course materials to evaluate course knowledge. Updates all necessary records as required by applicable laws, district policies, and school regulations. Works directly with teacher assistant(s) on course work and homework assignments. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience: 

Minimum 1 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Department Specific Functions

The Teacher TP will report directly to the Executive Director of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. The program dates are June 7, 2021 and end on July 23, 2021.

Patient safety is a top priority.
