Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Consultant - Production Application Support, you will join the Technology group to partner with professionals to ensure systems are operating flawlessly. You will provide application or infrastructure technical expertise as needed for projects and initiatives related to the implementations.
How You’ll Succeed
- Production Support - Identify and resolve medium to highly complex production problems for support of applications. Manage, support, and resolve complex vendor and proprietary technical issues arising in a calm and efficient manner.
- Analyze & Report - Analyze complex technical information to determine risk levels and technical feasibility when making changes to applications. Check on overnight batch processes, market and client connectivity to ensure technology readiness and availability each day. Escalate technology issues to the appropriate application support and technology infrastructure groups.
- Manage & Influence - Lead project coordination efforts in on-boarding clients, synchronize internal technology teams to provide optimal end-to-end solution for both internal and external clients. Identify proactive solutions for recurring technology occurrences to benefit the business.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience in: Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems, Shell scripts (ksh), Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Ruby, and Java (Servlet, JSP, EJB, SOA – WebServices). You are experienced with Jenkins, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Kurbenetes and OpenShift. Experience spinning up standalone Docker containers with Azure would be an asset. Regular interaction with Developers, Architects, Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure smooth deployment of releases. Manage dependencies across multiple pre-production environments and production to ensure the successful promotion of code throughout the SDLC. Must have technical working knowledge of all aspects of the DevOps lifecycle; industry practices; detailed understanding of systems architecture. Experience with source control and continuous delivery. You are able to take a procedure done manually, evaluate all possible scenarios of complexity with that procedure, and eventually automate the same procedure for flawless execution. You have strong knowledge of Network, Loadbalancer(s), DNS, TCP/IP, SFTP/SSH, clustered web servers, clustered application servers. Server configuration and management: Tomcat, Apache, LDAP, WebLogic and JBOSS. You also have an understanding of software development methodologies, network/TCP debugging, JAAS implementations & SSO technologies, and highly available/scalable web architectures and disaster recovery techniques.
