The Opportunity
We are searching for our our someone who will lead a team of talented and passionate Engineers that deliver core frontend components to both our customers and to the internal engineering teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring an environment where this team can work free of impediments and can deliver high quality increments to the Workhuman Engineering Platform. Working with key stakeholders, architects and software engineers, you will facilitate the various communication streams and the delivery lifecycle.
In this role you will manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and inspire the team to thrive for excellence, innovation, and the creation of solutions which delight customers.
The skills you will bring:
- Strong understanding of product strategy and market needs, and ensure this is shared with the team on an ongoing basis
- As a core member of the Agile Community of Practice, be an agile champion, sharing new ideas and perspectives from learning and external sources, valuing respect, collaboration, continuous improvement and learning cycles, pride in ownership, focus on delivering value, flow and the ability to adapt to change
- Experience in excellent communication practices within the team, based on trust, transparency and honesty
- Experience in motivation and development of the team to ensure the teams are improving, both individually and collectively
- Experience in building the succession planning on the team
- Talent search ideas and participate in the Recruitment process to ensure roles are filled efficiently with the right people
- Experience managing individual contributors, their career paths, goals and development plans.
- Experience with individual coaching and providing feedback.
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information technology or equivalent work experience
The value you will deliver:
- Maximise delivery to the business by creating a team environment where team members are empowered to succeed
- You will be central to laying the foundations to the path ahead, working with Engineering Directors, Product Architects and Product Owners to understand business objectives, identify potential solutions and reduce uncertainty
- Work closely with the Frontend Architect and Technical Lead, ensuring high level designs (where required) and user stories are ready at the start of each sprint
- Seek out opportunities to grow the skills and experience team members, using a coaching style of 1-1s to support their development
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, leading where appropriate, ensuring meetings are focused, productive and fun and that the process adds value
- Help to remove blockers to success, troubleshooting and mediating to find solutions where required
- Ensure the achievements of the team are understood by recognizing them and promoting them within the business
- Provide planning support and recommendations to Leadership
- You will play a key role in the development of the Workhuman Design System and Frontend redesign.
- Use data analytics to drive improvements
- You will facilitate delivery of standardized and well documented APIs
