The Opportunity

Qurate Retail Group (QRG) is in search of a data center engineer to be part of our team to build out our global foundation. In this role you will be part of the day to day, next generation data center project, and working with data center consolidation, governance and implementing policy processes and procedures to make sure that everything is running optimally.

Your Impact

• Design, perform and coordinate physical on-site installations of hardware in racks, including PDUs, network equipment, servers and storge devices, cable management etc.
• Design infrastructure within datacenter facilities, including physical plant, power consumption analysis and perform onsite or oversee work with remote teams for installs.
• Assist teams and interfaces with Operations Team during crisis events.
• Update inventory management tools and ensures accuracy of those tools.
• Maintain software licensing and support contracts for Datacenter Applications.
• Manage shipments to and from data centers.
• Order consumables (patch cables, optics) work with vendors on pricing, processing, and tracking orders.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of spare consumables and network hardware.
• Help to evaluate new tools, and enhance current tools used for monitoring and alerting on equipment used to support the core data center infrastructure.
• Actively involved in break fix activities and coordination.
• Work with internal teams who manage devices within our datacenters for install, maintenance and decommission projects.
• Manages data center cross connects.
• Help to design and implement physical devices within the global data center facilities.
• Assist with management of data center and other provider portals (user account creation, access requests, etc.)

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in two or more of the following areas: Electrical Power Monitoring System
• Knowledge of Window and Linux server monitoring and storage.
• Knowledge of critical facility networking.
• Experience supporting electrical and mechanical equipment in a critical facility.
• Experience with business process creation and improvement.
• Experience with Smart Rack Technologies
• Understanding of ticketing systems, on premise colocation, compliance, PCI and SOX.
