Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

The Enterprise Marketing Strategy, Planning, Performance and Operations team is responsible for developing client-centric marketing strategies, leading the annual marketing planning process and championing a marketing performance culture to help drive a stronger return on our marketing investment (ROI). The Internal Creative team will support Marketing Communications with customer facing messaging, specifically brand and advertising solutions to support a diverse suite of channels.

The incumbent will write clear, compelling copy, engaging clients with advice and/or product information, bringing the CIBC brand to life across channels. This includes shaping & delivering original content that will engage the targeted audience in all markets (English & French).

Support Marketing Communications with customer facing messaging ensuring alignment with CIBC brand guidelines, TOV and ‘look & feel’ across various channels including print & digital, specifically: marketing brochures, regional marketing collateral, sponsorship, Social Media and campaign messaging in banking centres including Posters, DTV and ATM.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Copywriting – Write clear, compelling copy across channels supporting new initiatives & evergreen customer facing programs & Marketing Communications. Collaborate with Marketing Communication and design team to support creative development that aligns with CIBC brand guidelines, processes and timelines. Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements. Bring the CIBC brand to life with clear, concise and grammatically correct copy that aligns with CIBC Tone of Voice. Maintain a clear and consistent brand message across all channels.
  • Proofreading – Review and edit Marketing Communication materials as needed (ie. updated required due to legal requirements), ensure proper grammar, Tone of Voice, and “look and feel” in accordance to CIBC guidelines. Maintain organizational knowledge of trademarking rules for all CIBC product and services, relevant principles and practices.

  • You can demonstrate 6+ years’ experience as a copywriter or similar role, you have an understanding of messaging hierarchy and knowledge of online content strategy and creation. You can demonstrate experience in using software such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Office365. It is an asset if you have experience using the WorkFront platform.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to fluently speak, write, and communicate in English and French
