We are currently seeking a Data Modeling and Cataloging Expert who will report to the Head of Data Governance as part of our Data Governance team based in Paris

Your opportunity

Devoted to Shape Next-Gen Luxury, the Kering Digital Team is engaged in a journey to accelerate the digital transformation of the Group’s Maisons leveraging Data and Digital. At the core of this digital transformation, the Kering Group ability to appropriately specify data requirements and document data assets is a key capability to fuel use cases with easily findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable high-quality data.

You will contribute to create and maintain the enterprise data models that meet data governance, regulatory and business requirements. Working closely with the Business Data Stewards, the Enterprise Architects and the Data Warehouse/Lake Architects, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the metadata management strategy for Kering Digital, leading Kering Digital data modeling, design and cataloging activities, and you will be the Kering Digital business contact for the data catalog solution.

How you will contribute

  • Ensure that data definitions align to the enterprise data model and that these definitions/models are adhered to on transformation programs
  • Work closely with technology teams (especially with the Enterprise Architecture and Tech Data teams) to enable physical schemas to be implemented in various solutions that align to the enterprise data models.
  • Define the enterprise logical models, taxonomies, and ontology for data and metadata to enable data engineering, data cataloging and data lineage in collaboration with data domain leaders
  • Sponsor and increase maturity of the various metadata repositories
  • Define the common reference data and hierarchies relevant for analytics (Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) purposes in collaboration with the broader data governance community
  • Identify, in close collaboration with technology teams, automated and manual ways for sharing metadata between the various tool sets such as the data modeling tools, the data dictionary, and ETL tools
  • Provide instruction and guidance on the metadata tools to the business and technical communities
  • Monitor the quality of the metadata that is captured to ensure that it is meeting standards, and report on this quality to business and technical leads

Who you are

  • A professional experienced in data modeling, business data analysis, business data architecture, enterprise data warehousing or enterprise architecture;
  • A professional able to work with data modeling methodologies (e.g. 3NF, Data Vault, Anchor Modeling, Dimensional), ideally with an experience of standard data models;
  • An open-minded person, curious, able to interact with a wide range of stakeholders with different backgrounds and able to act as “intrapreneur”, finding the best balance of interests
  • Fluent in English and able to work in a multi-cultural & multi-lingual environment
  • Knowledgeable about Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, Metadata Repository, Data Quality Requirement, Data Catalog, Record of Processing Activities, Data Lineage, Data Mapping
  • Familiar with data modeling tools (e.g. PowerDesigner, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, ER/Studio, InfoSphere Data Architect…) and data cataloging tools (e.g. Alation, Collibra, DataGalaxy, Cloudera Navigator…)
