At Zulily, we’re on a mission to deliver a fun and rewarding shopping experience for our core audience – Moms. Zulily is looking for an outstanding Group Marketing Manager, Brand to join the Brand Marketing team to drive development of 360 marketing campaigns — from strategic brief through creative concepting and production to content release for Zulily’s upper-funnel and mid funnel brand marketing campaigns. This candidate will own the external Creative Agency relationship as well as work directly with cross-functional internal teams, including Creative, Media, PR, Merch, Biz Development and Social to execute integrated programs that deliver against the company’s business objectives and deliver value to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail, expertise managing internal and external marketing campaigns for leading brands, a familiarity with the creative development and production process ensuring projects meet tight timelines and budgets. This collaborative leader possesses impeccable strategic thinking skills, is deeply interested in customer insights, competitive landscape and culture, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands how to motivate a team. 

You will:

  • Lead the development of campaign and marketing briefs to address defined business goals, including strategic vision, comms and messaging strategy, and delivery/channel strategy, collaborating with cross-functional partners to gather info and data to ensure overall campaign strength
  • Partner closely with the internal creative team and production studio to lead the development of compelling and effective creative, providing a clear direction and effective and strategically grounded feedback
  • Collaborate with the agency partners daily as they translate strategy into consumer-facing assets and participate in creative production of these campaigns, attending shoots, events, experiences as relevant
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on creative and campaign assets to ensure cohesive, consistent messaging and creative in alignment with the strategic vision and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Help identify strategic initiatives based on customer insights, aligning with key business objectives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of marketing managers, providing strategic, creative, and operational leadership and team support
  • Create, develop and maintain clear and comprehensive marketing calendars and seasonal concept maps.
  • In collaboration with Group Manager, Brand Strategy and Group Manager, Social build strategic alignment and cross team transparency with all other Zulily marketing channels
  • Manage portions of the marketing budget and track spend to maintain regular forecast accuracy, as well as, providing regular, transparent reporting of campaign impact and ROI, highlighting impact and learnings, always with a growth mindset
  • Guide projects that support Zulily brand building and brand education – customer facing and and throughout the company.
  • Research and report category trends, insights and innovations forecasted in retail, fashion and ecommerce.
  • Be intimately acquainted with and champion for Zulily’s core consumers, and how their needs and behaviors vary nationally
  • Measure the impact of work, clearly and concisely reporting KPIs to all stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, developing marketing campaigns for retail businesses
  • 5+ years of agency experience or managing of an advertising agency
  • Strong track record of crafting successful, channel optimized, consumer-obsessed marketing campaigns executed across a variety of marketing vehicles: digital, ‘in-store’, social, experiential, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment where the ability build relationships is critical.
  • Experience and eagerness to leverage data to make decisions. Ability to identify and interpret patterns from a blend of qualitative and quantitative data points.
  • Experience with content creation and production
  • Exceptional communication skills — oral, written, visual, data, etc
  • Experience leading meetings and brainstorms to foster collaborative environment Collaborative and solutions-oriented — skilled at the art of influencing, negotiating and navigating complex situations to reach resolution
  • A deep love for great brands, unique products, and extraordinary customer experience
