Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic software developer with solid understanding of Java or modern C++, to join our Streamline developer tools team. Streamline touches all layers of the software stack, collecting performance data from across a target system and providing our users with rich data visualizations in the host tool.

The role involves collaborating with highly motivated developers from different backgrounds, and customers throughout the world, to design, and develop the next generation of Arm's performance analysis tools for Arm CPUs and Mali GPUs. As part of this team, you would craft new features, maintain existing ones, and support the engineering infrastructure for build, test, and continuous integration. The team also helps to support both internal and external customers, and contributes to our developer documentation, developer website, and community forums. This role offers leadership opportunities.

We are growing the team to allow us to develop new performance analysis capabilities to support the latest generation of high-performance automotive platforms, so we can enable full system profiling across a rich virtualized multi-OS, multi-CPU, multi-GPU environment. With customers using our tools to optimize the latest smart cars, drones, mobile games, and machine learning applications, your ideas will make a difference and help to bring world-beating products to market.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Excellent software development skills using Java or C++.
• Experience of optimization and profiling for software applications, system software, or 3D graphics.
• Experience with scripting, in a language such as Python, and using the Linux command line.
• Proficiency in problem solving and debugging skills.
• Takes ownership for setting the team direction for some aspects of their project.
• Willingness and ability to contribute to the improvement of the team agile development process.
• A good university degree in an engineering, scientific or mathematical field, or equivalent experience.

Optional extras

• Developing for AUTOSAR or other automotive software platforms.
• Developing with Xen or other similar hypervisor technologies.
• Bringing up platform software for Arm-based development platforms.
• Designing data visualizations and user interface designs.
