Under the general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, the PURA V is responsible for leading the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) efforts to provide understandable information to consumers on important issues such as rates, tariffs, and programs. These duties include, but not limited to, coordinating with each electrical corporation, electric service provider, and community choice aggregator on current and future tariff; analyzing rates, tariffs, and Decisions; preparing data requests; and represent/present/facilitate CPUC public events.

Executive Division, News and Outreach Office, Public Advisor’s Office Unit:

The California Public Utilities Commission's (CPUC) News and Outreach Office assists customers with utility complaints and provides information and assistance to the media, local governments and community organizations, the public, and other stakeholders about the CPUC's many pioneering and innovative programs, policies, and proceedings.

The Public Advisor's Office provides procedural information to individuals and groups who want to participate in formal proceedings at the CPUC. In addition, we provide programs and services to educate and assist the public, including special accommodations and interpreter services. Our staff can help answer your questions, help you locate information, or refer you to an appropriate staff person. The Public Advisor’s Office has duties that are mandated by CA Public Utilities Code Section 321.

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted with your application. A SOQ is a narrative description of how your training, experience, and education qualifies you for the position. The SOQ must be 11-point Arial font, single-spaced, and no more than two pages. Writing that exceeds this page limit will not be scored.
