THE ROLE

The Photo Merchandise Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate status and coordination of merchandise samples, assisting with logistics of location and studio photo shoots, attending various meetings, communicating with team members on sample status, assisting merchants as the liaison with vendors for deliveries, and have a basic understanding of how products work and are assembled.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be proficient and maintain the SIMS inventory system
  • Coordinate and organize all merchandise samples for photo shoots including studio, location and prepress
  • Check condition to ensure samples are suitable for photography; quickly communicate any issues to both the Art Director and Merchant for resolution.
  • Check inventory status and quantities during turnover to ensure all required samples are available for photo shoot as scheduled and listed on photography list
  • Receive merchandise from various departments including: inventory, returns, the merchant group and/or sample room; track and communicate late samples and ETA for delivery.
  • Prep and pack all merchandise samples, props, and equipment for safe transportation to local and/or out-of-town shoot(s) and photo studio.
  • Coordinate samples for the photo studio; deliver samples to assigned area for shooting, help move samples on set, and promptly return items when completed to maintain shoot productivity.
  • Ensure all samples are returned in same condition after shoot wraps.
  • Drive and manage rental trucks (or our own truck) to local Cincinnati locations and/or out-of-town locations as assigned.
  • Pack, load and unload photo samples, sets, props into truck(s); assist with loading/unloading of photography equipment as necessary.
  • Assemble, disassemble and pack items while on location; monitor and communicate any quality issues with products.
  • Exemplifies the white glove experience customers expect during photo shoots or video shoots in their homes.
  • Partner with Sr. Photographer and Producer on best place to park vehicles and ensure vehicles do not damage surface or other areas around parking
  • Move homeowner’s furniture and place our larger products on set as directed; replace homeowner’s items as soon as shot is completed (or all shots in room).
  • Order samples from stock and coordinate sample shipping and receiving
  • Receive new photo samples from Merchandising and document the status, working order, and the components of new samples and assemble as needed
  • Assist Merchants as the liaison with vendors for late-delivery or direct-to-location samples
  • Partner with Merchant to ensure the timely and proper return of samples to sample room, outlet, RTV, etc.
  • Attend Turnover and Product Review Meetings, labeling new product samples, checking inventory status and creating their follow-up list and become familiar with products and their functionality.
  • Attend creative team meetings and be an active partner with the team
  • Coordinate and pull samples for the studio, location, and prepress team and communicate with team members status
  • Maintain and develop relationships with freight vendors
  • Work with Merchants and Creative team to transfer product to outlets to keep inventory current
  • Transfer new product samples back to merchandising (sample room) as needed
  • Schedule pick-ups and deliveries with vendors, stylists and/or transportation companies as required.
  • Organize and place product at various company facilities for temporary storing
  • Ensure team follows safety standards and maintain proper certifications on equipment and warehouse protocols
  • Build shelving storage as needed to maximize space
  • Responsible for ‘rigging’ products as directed by Art Director; partner with Stylist to achieve the desired end result.
  • Assist with keeping the studio and photo storage area neat and organized.
  • Assist in building, painting, moving and prepping Studio Sets
  • Finding creative solutions to storage of set pieces
  • Attend photo shoots. Be a team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done!

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel for out-of-town photo shoots up 25-30%.
  • Experience driving vans and box trucks preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Self-starter, well organized, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adjust to regular change and be motivated by working with different product categories in various interior and exterior environments.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during photo shoots.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; Must demonstrate proven follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED
