We are looking for a Communications Operator who has experience of working in a fast-paced and high-demand environment. This is a pivotal role supporting both operational and support staff and managers in the Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) and by engaging with senior managers and all staff. Your role is to ensure their safety and the security and protection of an iconic building and its wider estate.
Daily duties will include monitoring incidents and dispatches, making effective decisions in terms of deploying Police Officers, Fire Officers and Security Officers and keeping Security Officers up to date via a personal radio system. You will be continually offering advice and guidance to operational teams as well as dealing with incoming calls which can be contentious/of a difficult nature.
The Security Operation Centre operates 24/7, so you will be working shifts.
