Lead Copywriter: Home or Office-based

Summary

With their substantial prior knowledge and experience of Direct Response Marketing (B2C) strategies and strong communication skills, the Lead Copywriter will primarily support the Direct to Patient services within GPSS. They will use their in-depth knowledge and understanding of direct marketing healthcare / financial strategies and communications principles to develop content that gets results, whilst complying with industry regulations. The Lead Copywriter will also oversee the delivery outputs from the Copy writing team, acting as a coach and mentor for the team to provide upskilling of expertise. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work across a variety of other communication activities and patient recruitment materials including toolkit and portals. This is a large-scale / complex Consumer environment.

The Lead Copywriter will work across a number of multi-functional teams, giving them the opportunity to interact with colleagues from other IQVIA Divisions and gain valuable insights into the broader pharmaceutical industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy for direct response marketing communications content (B2C) across projects, with a high level of creativity and excellent attention to detail. Ensure appropriate in terms of compliance, accuracy and interpretation, messaging, structure/flow and readability, appropriateness for the audience.
  • Contribute to writing for projects, especially drafting content for new, complex or unusual items.
  • Exercise excellent interpersonal/communication skills for effective and professional liaison with the internal team, clients, healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders and to obtain comprehensive briefs and responses to queries.
  • Actively participate in meetings with relevant internal and external stakeholders, representing the writing team where necessary, and respond effectively to questions relating to allocated areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with strategy and BD leads when copywriting and direct marketing expertise is required, to create content and contribute to strategy for RFPs.
  • Lead meetings with relevant stakeholders, presenting marketing concepts and facilitating discussions as required. Provide counsel as subject matter experts (SMEs), where required.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term working relationships with internal and external key decision-makers.
  • Support less experienced copywriters to incorporate internal/client comments using a balanced approach and help to resolve any conflicts in a professional and compliant manner. Work directly with internal teams or clients to provide advice and rationale when requested changes will cause inaccuracy, inconsistency, or compliance issues, or reduce the effectiveness of the item.
  • Provide accurate budget estimates for the department.
  • Diligently follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as adhere to industry regulations and departmental guidance.

Requirements

  • Looking for experience in Pharma or Healthcare but a strong alternative would be Financial Services or a similar Response-driven, ROI-focused sector.
  • Need some experience with the strategy and execution of large-scale, multi-million record mail, email, SMS and call Campaigns.
  • Strongly preferred, but not required, would be Large Agency experience like; Proximity, Barraclough, Drayton Bird, Wunderman or Rapp Collins.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree would be a plus.
