The department

The Global Technology department plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the business. We are responsible for developing and implementing state-of-the-art software and hardware maintenance to support our fund management, trading, distribution and operational areas with secure, stable and resilient technology platforms.

Overview of the role

  • The Salesforce.com Developer will be responsible for the hands-on technical aspects involved in delivering Salesforce.com, and systems integration projects. Primarily focusing on lightning development and Apex development
  • The Developer is expected to have had previous Salesforce lightning development experiences as well as extensive experience in applications development, software engineering / development, focusing on, but not limited to Salesforce technologies
  • This role will be involved in both CRM BAU and enhancement work acting as the expert lightning resource to assist and mentor the rest of the Salesforce Development team located in London and Denver

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop in Salesforce programming languages which includes but not limited to Apex, Visualforce, Web Services, and SOQL
  • Have orking knowledge of data structures and understanding of data migration
  • Have strong Salesforce administration skills including but not limited to the following activities:
  • Configuring standard UI options for groups of users
  • Creation or deletion of custom-defined fields in the application
  • Updating of custom-defined page layouts and record types
  • Developing or modifying custom workflows
  • Maintaining the Role Hierarchy and Territory Management Rules as the organization changes structure over time
  • Maintaining security profiles and access rights for users within the application
  • Configuring shared, custom reports
  • Escalating issues to Salesforce.com Technical Support as required
  • Have knowledge of JSON,Javascript, JQuery, and HTML a plus
  • Have knowledge and working experiences with source control and continuous integration
  • Have proven ability to learn technical concepts and translate them to the appropriate audience
  • Have the ability to recognize opportunities and provide solutions for improving systems
  • Support both project and on-going support/maintenance activities related to Salesforce.com integrated systems
  • Assist in the development of testing, training development/support, and launch plans as required to aid in delivery of a quality product, designed for user acceptance and adoption
  • Utilize Jira or Salesforce Case management to track and report progresses on bugs fix and enhancements
  • Develop in-depth knowledge and proficiency of supported business areas and engages business partners in evaluating opportunities for process integration and refinement
  • Take a lead role in cross-functional and cross-departmental change management and facilitate productive discussions around proposed application feature/functionality enhancements and to ensure these changes are consistent with executive vision
  • Assist Management in determining high-level project goals that serve as benchmarks of overall project/product success
  • Have a working knowledge of ExactTarget, Pardot or other email blast or Marketing Automation applications a plus
  • Perform Salesforce Lightning administrative tasks and able to self-educate Salesforce Lightning interface
  • Be able to take direction and work well within a team
  • Be able to work under the stress of and meet deadlines
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Signficant experience designing, developing and implementing custom applications/components
  • Experience developing custom data integrations between multiple systems or databases
  • Hands-on experience with the configuration and ongoing administration of Salesforce.com is required
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Web Services, SOQL, Javascript and HTML
  • Experience with Salesforce.com API, SOAP and REST API, integrations with other enterprise applications is preferred
  • Salesforce Lightning experiences is preferred
  • Experience in analysis of business process, workflow and modeling
  • Experience in analysis of computer applications that cross numerous operational and servicing disciplines
  • Experience working with various types of service vendors in the Information Technology and Mutual Funds industries
  • Experience working in a task-oriented environment by where project management practices and disciplines are the key method towards job execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with all levels of management, staff, vendors, contractors, and consultants
  • Strong leadership skills, a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve assigned objectives by conducting researches and self-learning activities
  • Preferred: Certified Salesforce Developer

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, by:

  • Annual performance appraisal
