Senior Manager - Program Management

The Emerging Tech Product Line Leader drives the business product development strategy through capture and execution of contract-based research and development (CRAD) with government labs. This role is also responsible for strategic execution of IRAD that supports RVS roadmaps defined with the business leadership team. Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Profit and loss responsibility for an advanced technology product line and execution of significant internal investments annually. The product line contains multiple EO/IR programs including a diversity of technologies and customers. This leader oversees these efforts through a team of program managers and principal investigators.
  • Annual roadmapping and strategic planning as part of the business Leadership Team, then align the product line captures and execution with the business strategy.
  • Leadership and supervision of a team of program managers/principal investigators and matrixed functional reports to facilitate program execution and planning.
  • Collaboration with the business Leadership Team for regular operations, reporting to the General Manager. This includes bookings reviews and five year planning with Business Development and Finance, investment planning with the Tech Director, process improvement planning with Engineering.

An ideal candidate will meet the following requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Technical understanding of the principles of infrared (IR) imaging at a systems engineering level, including detector physics, imaging ROICs, cryogenic packaging, optics and electronics.
  • Knowledge of the IR imaging market with government labs, especially NVESD, DARPA, AFRL, NRL and DE-JTO.
  • Experience with management of technology. Demonstrated history of successfully supervising/managing complex development programs towards production ready designs.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with other business units within the enterprise.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience as a program manager and/or principal investigator in IR imaging or similar fields.
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security clearance.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM or other related field, advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred.
  • Program Management certification or equivalent.
