Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provide independent, objective and commercial risk focused assurance to the Board Audit Committee to assist the Group in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of its stakeholders.

The Group Operations, Data, Third Parties & Projects audit team provides coverage over a wide range of areas with audit accountability over the majority of the Group. The team is structured as a shared service model with BU audit teams to provide a centre of excellence for audits in the four domains of Group operations, Data, Third parties and Projects.
The team adds value to the Group by:
- Oversee the delivery of a professional and highly valued audit service to the business and the Group’s Audit & Risk Committees, including relevant subsidiary boards and committees.
- Provide objective assurance on risk management to key customers (e.g. Group Executives and their leadership teams) to secure the financial wellbeing of the Bank’s customers.
- Provide commercial insights to customers that makes a real difference to their business
Do work that matters
- Accountable for strategy, planning and delivery of auditing Group Operations and Payments processes within the Bank
- Build a dynamic, risk-based audit plan and refresh this at least quarterly to appropriately capture key and emerging technology risks in addition to administering and supervising audit delivery
- Present at subsidiary boards, and risk and audit committees as required, on control issues, audit insights and recommendations for remediation actions
- Support and drive appropriate use of analytics, to drive audit efficiency and deeper insights and be an agent of change by sharing learnings across GA&A and the business
- Build and sustain independent and objective relationships with Line 1, Line 2 risk management, Project Steering Committees, professional services firms and external audit, ensuring appropriate assurance coverage is provided
- Deliver high value advice by identifying issues, commercial insights and productivity opportunities to customers, proactively monitor emerging risks which enable pragmatic business change and align with the strategic direction of the business
- Develop relationships within GA&A, the Bank and externally, to enable effective knowledge sharing across GA&A and the Group
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess
- Financial services industry based knowledge and experience particularly in consumer, business banking, institutional lending or global markets environment
- Extensive experience gained in an audit or risk role with knowledge of product and operational functions and regulatory obligations in a banking environment is required
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams through change is preferred
- Demonstrated ability in building strong customer relationships based on credibility, rapport and trust to derive commercial insights
- Relevant internationally recognised auditing or professional accounting qualifications
