Business Customer Solutions is a division of B&PB that has established and is sponsoring the Strategic Pricing and Billing Programme (SP&B). The programme is a multi-million dollar initiative running over a 3-4 year period that will enable sustainable risk mitigation through the development and subsequent migration to a new strategic pricing & billing platform for a range of business products. The programme will substantially uplift the customer experience of the Bank’s customers by simplifying and meeting their respective needs. The B&PB Business Customer Solutions Team is held accountable for Business Leadership, Business Scope and Objectives, Benefits Realisation and Product Ownership for the Programme.

Do Work That Matters

Product Owners will be assigned product sets in Deposits and International Solutions (DIS) or Merchants Services / Commerce Solutions (CS). They will define and shape deliverables across a wide range of on-going initiatives and offer business expertise and product knowledge across Operating Model, Solution Architecture and Product / Pricing Optimisation workstreams.

They will also be responsible for the definition of initiatives that support sustainable risk mitigation for their defined product set, representing the voice of the customer and ensuring business needs and benefits are prioritised to maximise value. The individual will be a strong team player who will work closely with the team to ensure deliverables are met in a timely fashion and adhere to quality standards.

You will report directly to the Chief Product Owner of Strategic Pricing and Billing.

You may also lead Business Analyst(s).

More specifically, you will:

  • Assess, analyse, plan and execute change and improvement initiatives that enable Business Customer Solutions to best meet the needs of internal customers and support the Group’s vision.
  • Understand designated products, their features and behaviours and the day to day operational functions within Business Customer Solutions including systems and processes designed to meet client demand and needs.
  • Understand the voice of the customer, business priorities and objectives with respect to the designated product sets
  • Ensure that business needs and benefits are prioritised in the delivery of initiatives
  • Prioritise work required to be completed by Business Analysts
  • Communicate and escalate requirements for product, process and system enhancements as required.
  • Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders within the team as well as other key internal stakeholders such as RBS, BPB, IBM and WM to optimise operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • In relation to your role, identify and assess the risks which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role.
  • Actively recommend and implement improvements to change management and portfolio prioritisation processes to continuously improve the way in which improvements are implemented across the business.
  • Support the planning and execution of change communication strategy to ensure all stakeholders are well informed of all change activities you are working on.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • High level of computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Strong product intimacy and knowledge of Cash / Deposits or Merchants / Payables & Receivables products is highly desirable
  • Competent with data analysis in Excel
  • Conceptual thinking with business acumen and ability to move the business towards new models and processes.
  • Good team player able to provide clear leadership and drive for team success.
  • High levels of motivation, drive and strong success orientation.
  • Experience with Agile methodology is desirable
  • Effective communicator at all levels, internally and externally. Exceptional written / oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, problem solve, develop solutions and influence outcomes.
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Completion of business related undergraduate degree is desirable.
  • Financial Services experience.
