Join us! Together, we will support critical missions, develop solutions and shape products of the future.

We are looking for a systems engineer with insatiable curiosity to join a high-performing team maintaining the JPSS Common Ground System (CGS) that manages a constellation of environmental satellites. A continuous-learning mindset is required to develop an understanding of how this evolving, geographically-distributed set of CGS subsystems are configured, communicate, and used by customer flight engineers and operators. Team members must learn how the system works broadly then eventually specialize in one or more subsystems. The successful candidate will have a knack for troubleshooting and be able to work cohesively with teammates, who depend on each other’s different skills and knowledge, to plan and execute successful workarounds for problems and contribute to the development of long-term solutions.

As a member of the Deployment Team, the candidate will perform systems integration and testing of new software releases, deploy those releases into the operational system while protecting on-going spacecraft operations from disruption, and investigate CGS operations anomalies. The successful candidate must be comfortable working side by side with the customer in a helpful, service-oriented manner.

The candidate will support a wide variety of tasks in coordination with customer operations teams and the other RIS teams responsible for software development, hardware infrastructure, systems administration, security, configuration management, and quality assurance. This work will be performed in an existing and dynamic operational environment demanding rapid response and flexibility.
