Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space (RI&S) has an exciting opportunity for an Application Programmer in Ft. Lee, VA and Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate supports a team of database and software developers that design, develop, test, tune, implement, and maintain a United States Army web-based application.
The candidate interacts with system architects, development team, testers, helpdesk personnel, and users to understand application requirements and specifications. The candidate gathers and reviews customer requirements, creates detailed designs, develops new (modifies existing) software to meet requirements and business rules, furthermore, the candidate must be able to perform testing in accordance with project guidelines and processes. The candidate assists with writing formal test procedures, updating training materials, and interacts professionally with developer peers and user base.
The desired candidate is a self-starter, able to operate with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop enterprise-level system software
- Work with DBAs on database design modifications per application requirements
- Work with helpdesk personnel to determine root cause for system-level issues
- Debug and correct existing Application level code
- Ensure consistent level of quality in the design and implementation of software solutions
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate with other developers on best practices
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of related experience
- Experience with DoD Information Systems software development utilizing Microsoft.NET, SQL Server, TIPS SDK, T-SQL, C# and Telerik
- Possess Army 8570 Baseline Certification IAT-II
- Experience applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design principals
- Experience with development patterns and technologies to include: Object Relational Mapping (ORM)/Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML
- Experience with SQL Server queries using T-SQL and capable of designing normalized databases
- Knowledge of Windows networking and Windows Web Server IIS management, and willingness to assist with debugging cyber security issues
- Ability to gather, document, and track requirements
- Ability to plan sprints using agile methodology
- Experience with Telerik and Telerik controls
- Experience with source control tools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Desired Qualifications:
- Comfortable with C++ programming in a Microsoft Visual Studio IDE
- Experience working on a highly networked enterprise application
- Knowledge of efficient data transport over Wide Area Networks
- Understanding of and experience with secure programming techniques
Required Education:
- Applicants must have a minimum of a BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree field, or equivalent experience
