Job Description:
Raytheon Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to support the RUSHMORE program.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing web-based software solutions for global customers as well as evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service as well as integration and verification of new baselines.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate’s key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Acts as technical resource and interfaces with Prime customer on daily basis for successful mission execution
- Supports the maintenance and documentation of software applications
- Determines the operational feasibility of software modifications
- Develops software tools to complement maintenance activities
- This position is located in a customer facility and some CONUS/OCONUS travel may be possible
Required Skills:
- Ability to work in a structured configuration controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time software applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract
- Experience in software development and integration, database management and utilization, networks and system administration
- Strong analytical skills and ability to recommend solutions to software engineering problems and issues (can occur outside normal day staff hours)
- Design, develop and enhance web-based software solutions for global customers
- Develop new automated solutions to support mission systems
- Support installation and testing of new software baselines at multiple local and international sites
- Maintain backend database solutions designed to keep data in sync around the world
- Improve overall functionality and efficiency of software tools
- Help establish and modify standard software configuration control processes
- Experience with configuration management to include the request for change (RFC) process
- Must have the ability to identify and isolate discrepancies to software, database, scripts or configurations
- Broad technical understanding of various operational systems in this environment
- Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Ability to relay and receive information
- Excellent liaison between local personnel and overseas workforce
- Java/Java Server Faces (JSF) development expertise
- Version control using GIT
- Experience working in a Linux Environment
- Requires ability to work under pressure in restoring high-priority systems to operations as well as the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision to support tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, team-building skills, and a reputation for establishing good customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members
- Self-motivated, excellent time management and organizational skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience in an O&M environment
- Experience working an enterprise program with team members at multiple geographic locations.
- Linux/Unix, PERL,GIT and database experience. JIRA, BitBucket and Confluence experience desired
- C++. Perl and/or Python development experience
- Experienced with Atlassian products (BitBucket, Jira & Confluence)
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQLite3, and Oracle databases
- Development experience using AWS or other Cloud based solutions
- Security+ certification
- Experience with current IC or DoD operational environments and policies or supporting operational systems
Required Education (including Major):
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field with 4 years of experience
Requirement:
Current TS/SSBI/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
