Strategic Displays Staff Software Engineer - FDSA Dev Lead:

This position is for a Staff Software Engineer on the Strategic Displays team in the Mission Systems organization. This team is an engineering development group responsible for supporting key emerging technologies and differentiators required to position Collins Aerospace for both current and future growth opportunities; supporting our military and their partners. Candidates will perform software development in all life-cycle phases, work closely with program management, and interface with customers. This position has the ability to work multiple domains from a systems and software perspective. These include:

• Flight Displays Software Application (FDSA) software
• Ground station displays work controlling Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

Basic Qualifications:

• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the 
• appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required. 
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card (permanent resident status) is required
• Candidate must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance
• Must have FDSA development experience 

Desired Experience:

• Experience with leadership, making successful system design decisions
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, excellent interpersonal skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
• Must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results
• C / C++ / Python software experience in embedded mission avionic system(s)
• An interest in becoming a Product Owner (PO) Team Lead/Cost Account Manager (CAM)

Primary Responsibilities

• Leading FDSA development, performing bids and future pursuits
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Coordinate across teams, synchronizing various efforts
• Work within a team that is dedicated to meet commitments, and help each other, but is always having fun … foosball!
