As a Computer Systems Engineer (Sr Systems Administrator I) in our Program Resource Center (PRC) team you’ll be part of a highly skilled group, delivering cutting edge IT solutions, while supporting a prestige hosting service.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with internal research and development leads on assessing their compute and storage needs, and provision services for them using the latest in technology
  • Develop standard server images and maintain them for patches and updates
  • Create and deploy virtual machines for our critical strategic initiatives
  • Maintain a hyperconverged infrastructure providing record beating standup times
  • Research new infrastructure technology trends, assessing their utility and developing concept of operations for deployment within the PRC.
  • Assist in managing public cloud resources, including administration of cloud costs and utilization
  • Ensure that our environment maintains the ability to handle Classified Data through a rigorous security posture and the implementation of RMF controls
  • Manage and triage support requests through ticketing system, while carefully documenting updates and/or resolution.
  • Provide detailed weekly status reports

This role will be filled at either a G08 or G09 level depending upon the skills and experience level of the selected applicant at the discretion of the hiring manager.

This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret from Dept. of Defense) to be obtained within 1 year of start date.

This role is based in Tewksbury (primary) and Andover and capped budget relocation is available to the selected applicant if they are qualified per company policy - budget amount to be discussed at the appropriate stage of the process.

Required Skills:

  • 6+ years’ experience in systems engineering or systems administration
  • Experience with Windows, including Active Directory, Windows 10 and Server 2016
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, e.g. VMWare / HyperV / Acropolis / KVM
  • Experience creating technical documentation, such as writing technical implementation guides
  • Security+ certification or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of employment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Customer service focused
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with public Cloud implementations, e.g. AWS, Azure
  • Familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure, such as VxRail, Nutanix, SimpliVity
  • Experience scripting in languages such as Ruby, Powershell, BASH or Python
  • Understanding of physical and virtualized storage (e.g. VSAN)and networking (e.g. NSX)
  • Scripting/automation - 2+ years’ experience with automation tools such as Chef, Ansible or Puppet
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Working knowledge of high performance computing technologies
  • Familiarity with DoD security configuration requirements, hardening procedures and settings

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline OR significant applicable professional experience in a related field in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
