The Protected Communication Systems Department is involved all aspects of Systems Engineering across the program lifecycle of Protected Communication Systems programs within the Integrated Communications System (ICS) Mission Area. The systems engineering includes architecture development, CONOPS development, trade studies, modeling and simulation, systems / software / hardware requirements analysis, as well as integration, validation and verification. The Department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, PTW), line of sight, and networking for ground based, ship, submarine, and airborne platforms.

JOB SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to join our dynamic, diverse, and rapidly growing team. The Systems Engineering (SE) Section Manager, will perform a combination of SE duties and front line supervisor duties for a section of 10-15 Engineers. The SE Section Manager will work in Marlborough MA, report directly to the Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Department Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Responsibilities

  • System Engineering
  • CONOPS development, architecture development, and leading a team responsible for conducting trade studies, modeling and simulation, and generating/analyzing requirements
  • Evaluating customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Section Manager
  • Managing resources (people and/or equipment) utilization to optimize program execution and performance
  • Employee goal setting, training plans, mentoring, and long-term career development
  • Employee’s performance reviews and salary planning; employee recognition and awards
  • Recruiting and growing top talent.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Systems, Software or Hardware engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years demonstrated engineering leadership experience and proven track record.
  • Demonstrated experience with disciplined engineering processes, risk and opportunity management, scope management, people development and skills management.
  • Proven experience leading an Integrated Product Team or cross-functional teams within a structured process environment including a task oriented, value based management system
  • Highly experienced working with customers, management, technical staff, and internal / external organizations.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required AND this position requires the ability to obtain (and maintain) DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date and will require the ability to access US only data systems

Desired Skills

  • Experience in an Engineering manager, IPT Lead or Program Manager role
  • Working knowledge of EVMS, IMS, & IMP tools for managing programs.
  • Knowledge of Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) Engineering products, technologies, and processes.
  • Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Must have proven leadership skills and behaviors
  • Team building and motivational skills
  • Knowledge of Raytheon Intelligence and Space gating process
  • Technical experience with SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, and/or networking for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)

Desired Education

  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)
