Raytheon Technologies is seeking an DevOps Automation Engineer to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Long Term Modernization and Sustainment Program (LTM&S). The DevOps Automation Engineer position is located in Hampton, Virginia, at the USAF customer site, and reports to the Automation Team Lead.
This position requires automation engineering experience, with a demonstrated understanding and application of automation principals and processes, experience in automation engineering and proven innovation in determining potential improvements gained by automated applications and testing. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on innovating automated processes into current processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop automated installation, configuration, and deployment modules for Red Hat Ansible.
- Develop PowerShell/ Python scripts to manage post deployment configurations.
- Employ DevOps pipelines to deploy new Windows and Linux servers, services and software.
- Create and review new automation artifacts for Configuration Management.
- Ensure configuration management and data management processes are followed for all automation scripts.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with contacts in the independent test community and development program offices.
- Support and maintain the operations and sustainment of Windows and Linux lab resources.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven ability to implement automation DevOps for an enterprise or production IT environment
- Proven ability to automate provision, installation, configuration, and deployment of new servers, services, configurations and cyber patches.
- Understanding software coding best practices.
- Experience with Red Hat Ansible
- Experience with YAML, Python and PowerShell scripting languages.
- Experience with GIT
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
- Ability to work on a team under pressure to meet strict schedule requirements.
Additional Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience automating installations and configurations on multiple operating system such as Windows and Linux.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum six (6) years of functional area experience;
