Job Description:

The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on product design, producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) designs and develops electronics and test equipment for RF, EW, Communications and EO sensors. The Center provides engineering, technology development, and manufacturing support for an extensive line of airborne, ground, and space-based systems.

The candidate is applying for the specific role as a TEMPEST Test Engineer. The test engineer will be responsible in supporting the procedures, plans, execution and reporting of TEMPTEST activities for systems in a multitude of platforms including land, sea and air.

Applicant should have a degree in electrical engineering or background in electronics. Preferred candidate is a Certified TEMPEST Professional Level 1 (CTP-1) or have minimum 12 months hands on experience performing TEMPEST testing with some experience helping to prepare test plans and reports. If candidate is not certified, must be willing to work towards obtaining CTP-1 certification within 1 year after hire. Candidate must have experience with using RF test and measurement instrumentation including receivers, antennas, analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Candidate should be familiar with the concepts electromagnetics, RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering. Candidate must be willing to work primarily in an engineering lab environment conducting TEMPEST tests to support product development and qualification, building of test fixtures and cables.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires a U.S. Security Clearance day 1 of employment.

Required Skills:

  • RF grounding and shielding principles
  • Matlab
  • Experience working in a lab environment and with standard lab tools
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Familiarity with Software tools: LTSpice, System Vision, PSPICE, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Mentor DX Designer and Expedition

Required Education:

Must have a BS degree with a major in Electrical Engineering or other related field from an accredited university with 2 years of related work experience
