GPS OCX is seeking talented Software Engineers to join our software team. The candidate must have experience and knowledge with software engineering using object oriented methodologies. The candidate will work closely with systems engineers, integrators, testers, and customers to support software applications throughout refresh and maintenance life cycle. Responsibilities include updates to configuration files, path names, recompiles and troubleshooting of existing code to be compatible with COTs and compiler upgrades. Strong trouble shooting skills are a must.

GPS OCX is seeking a Senior level Software Engineer with knowledge in Weblogic and Automation Tools to join our software team. The candidate must have experience and knowledge with software engineering – including design development, and maintenance life cycle, Additional knowledge of DevOps methodologies and SW process is desirable. The candidate will play an integral role within the GPC OCX Automation team.

Typical responsibilities include supporting all aspects of Software Development, including design, coding, integration, test, build coordination and deployment. Responsibilities also include the support of ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the existing, operational system. Software Engineers are required to work with the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test teams in support of SW requirements analysis, test plan development, problem investigation, and software documentation.

Qualified candidates should be able to quickly understanding assignments and carry them out with moderate supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills are desired for maintaining a high level of team efficiency.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and have a current DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualified candidates will be expected to:

• Support the administration of systems, network, and databases.
• Fix installation issues in the entire Automation system including issuing patches
• Be able to analyze requirements handed to them, and then design, write, and test code to meet those requirements
• Be able to debug previously written code, find the source of errors, and make corrections/modifications as necessary
• Be able to work independently (as needed) or closely with their team or with members of other disciplines (systems and test engineers; configuration management) to troubleshoot and fix problems
• Be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and sometimes pressured environment
• Be a Team player incorporating a team based success philosophy
• Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
• Be able to follow established SW processes and procedures

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8 years working experience in software design and development including entire lifecycle (preliminary design through maintenance phases)
• Minimum 4 years working with Weblogic
• Minimum 2 years working in network architecture to include firewalls, Active Directory, DNS, switches, etc.
• Minimum 4 years working with Linux (or UNIX derivations)
• Must have knowledge and experience supporting and implementing automated installations
• Must have 2+ years of programming in Python/WLST
• Must have 8+ years of programming in C++ and/or Java.
• Ability to work well independently with a high level of responsibility and navigate effectively in matrix environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to build effective, collaborative work relationships with colleagues and internal clients
• Must have strong detail-orientation, multitasking abilities and project management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of AWS, Jenkins, JIRA, and Chef
• Knowledge of ClearCase, SOA, Python
• Knowledge of OSB and JEE Integration using SSL with keystores, certificates, and wallets
• Engineering experience on a large government SW development contract
• Knowledge & advocate of all SW engineering processes
• Knowledge of related disciplines: system engineering, integration, test engineering, quality engineering, configuration/data management
• Ability to quickly come up to speed on technical & management efforts currently underway
• Self-starter: proactive in determining goals & objectives & pursuing the necessary course of action
• Experience in preparing customer &/or management level briefings, schedule development, action item management, requirement change management & overall development & progress metrics
• Experience preparing and presenting reports and briefings both orally and written

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s degree in STEM field from an Accredited University/College/School and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
