The System Design & Architecture Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). We are seeking engineering professionals for full time Systems Engineering positions in the Maritime Systems (MS) department. The department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems that support the U.S. Navy’s missions.

This position is located in Portsmouth, RI. The selected candidate will have a proven technical track record of hands-on experience developing system requirements and performance models in maritime and/or complex electronic products. In addition, he/she will make key contributions in conceptualizing and capturing (bids/proposals) new product development opportunities. Specific areas of interest include Model Based Engineering (MBE, MBSE, MDA, MDD, and MDE), Systems of Systems (SoS), architecture modeling and analysis of software-intensive systems.

Tasks will primarily support programs in the U.S. Navy’s undersea and surface domains including mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Position may require occasional travel.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6(+) years of experience, or an MS degree and 4(+) years of experience, or a PhD and 2(+) years of experience, in the field of engineering or a related technical discipline;
  • Experience with or in
  • System level requirements development, documentation and maintenance
  • Developing and extending system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents
  • Providing MBSE/SysML expertise and related support to the entire engineering team
  • Systems/Software Architecture Modeling, Analysis and Assessment
  • Familiarity with UML/SysML and experience with Model-Based Engineering approaches, methods, and techniques, as well as tools such as Rhapsody.
  • Proven ability to lead technical solutions to complex user requirements
  • Active DoD SECRET Clearance, or Interim SECRET

Desired:

  • Hands-on Embedded Software Design and Development
  • Experience with automatic code generation
  • Understanding and experience with Agile and DevOps
  • Experience with IBM Architecture/Requirements Tools (DOORS, Rational Rhapsody, Rational Publishing Engine, etc.)
  • Experience with MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect and/or Cameo
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle, trade studies, requirements, and interface definitions
  • Demonstrated ability to build and shape work and teams through a collaborative and effective partnership
  • Familiarity with Navy systems and product lifecycle
  • Active Top Secret or ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline; Masters/Ph.D. Degree is a plus
