This is your opportunity to join the AN/TPY-2 Radar software Team as a Principal Signal Processing Application Software Engineer to support our X-Band Radar software product line. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ an AGILE Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms. The candidate will be responsible for architectural design, application design, and implementation of integrated Radar signal processing software applications. This position requires understanding of real-time, signal processing software design and the ability to recognize the performance implications associated with specific detailed implementations.

Job Summary:

  • Work with the latest algorithms to implement real-time solutions that improve our missile defense discrimination capabilities
  • Perform high level design, software development, integration, and testing of real-time Radar software
  • Develop radar software applications are using Ada, C++/C and Java programming languages running on a variety of computing platforms running Linux or UNIX operating systems
  • Act as a key contributor for complex development tasks and provide technical leadership in multiple areas of software engineering
  • Understand the “big picture” of the radar system and also be able to develop or review detail solutions at the source code level

– U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment.

Required:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
  • Minimum 8 yrs experience in all phases of software engineering
  • 6 years of experience with C++/C and Linux or UNIX
  • 3 years signal processing software development experience
  • Software development experience in a DoD environment
  • Experience at the Software architecture level

Desired:

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
  • Experience implementing complex real-time signal processing algorithms in C++ that meet latency and throughput performance requirements
  • Familiarity with typical radar signal processing algorithms such as pulse compression, multi-pulse processing, CFAR detection, adaptive processing
  • Understanding of parallelism and concurrency as applied to algorithm implementation on shared memory and distributed systems
  • Experience in multithreaded, multiprocessor software development
  • Familiarity with the following SW Tools: ClearCase, DOORS, MATLAB
  • Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, GBR-P, or similar missile defense radars.
  • ExperieAnce in an Agile/SCRUM development environment
  • Strong Object-Oriented Design Knowledge
