Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) is seeking a Senior Principle Systems Engineer to support the Kessel Run platform team with Monitoring Logging and Metrics (MLM). The Kessel Run (KR) platform team manages a large scale physical and virtual server environment that underpins our global platform. The selected candidate will be involved with and exposed to a wide variety of systems and technologies but particularly focused on Monitoring Engineering: Providing the KR enterprise with real-time logging, reporting, and dashboards that provide the state of any KR IaaS, PaaS, Service and app running in any of our environments. The Kessel Run team is aggressively moving towards a "Continuous Monitoring" model. We are looking for someone with an "automation" mindset.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Systems administration / Site Reliability/ Platform/ DevOps background
  • Solid grasp of Software Engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with one or more system monitoring, alerting and analytics technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure including but not limited to data center operations, server hardware, databases (MS SQL, PostgreSql, mySQL, mongoDB), virtualization (VMware), networking, storage, monitoring, etc. Techologies include: VMWare vRealize, VROperations, Blue Medora, Dell Open Manage, EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience with various programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, Go, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with application infrastructure using ReactJS, Restful APIs, Authentication methods is a plus
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms such as Concourse, Gitlab CI, Jenkins etc.
  • Experience with Infrastructure solutions such as Dell vxRails, vSphere, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, FluentD, Kibana, CloudWatch
  • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), and Kubernetes

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to stay abreast of emerging system development trends
  • Exposure to Information Assurance compliance to specified standards, e.g. ICD-503 or Risk Management Framework
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced and changing environment

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), or related STEM degree program from an Accredited University/School/College and 10 years of related work experience. Master’s Degree in STEM preferred.
