Our rapid growth into space communications and networking has created an opportunity for an experienced integration and test engineer. Successful candidates must be creative, highly motivated, agile, and deeply skilled in object-oriented programming for prototype and production-level platforms. Future BBN engineers will implement cutting-edge network concepts and impact state-of-the-art cross-coalition space messaging systems in the same manner past BBN engineers impacted the modern digital age by being internet pioneers. Most importantly, you will make a difference by developing technologies to protect our nation from ever-persistent threats, enabling mission critical systems, and ensuring our nation’s leadership position in space.

Required Skills

  • BS degree and 6 years or MS and 4 years of experience with degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Experience with test automation processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of software development testing practices in a dynamic research and development environment.
  • Experience with Python; other scripting languages a plus.
  • Linux administration, including support network configurations. Other experience with services such as Puppet, Samba a plus.
  • Position may require some amount of overnight travel.
  • A willingness to apply for and be granted a US Government Security clearance.

Additional Skills Desired

  • 6 or more years of professional experience is desired
  • Network infrastructure experience, including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • A good understanding of modern networking protocols such as: TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, NAT, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Experience with Docker containerization.
  • Experience with cloud services, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++ or Java
  • Security discipline, e.g., risk management framework (RMF), secure coding practices, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection, VPNs, cryptography, fuzzing, penetration testing, cyber forensics.
  • Ability to work and communicate as part of a team
  • The desire to continually learn and improve yourself
