The Systems Integration and Test's Radar Systems Department currently has an opportunity for a talented engineer in the integration and test of hardware and software of Radar systems. The Radar Systems Department provides system engineering, integration, and test expertise to the radar, sensor and ship systems programs within RMD. In this role you will may perform various engineering activities depending on your experience and skill level, such as system test requirements development, planning, execution, and analysis for system integration and verification in hardware-in-the-loop facilities, flight tests, and sell-off of production radar systems; technical support on-site and as reach-back for deployed sensor systems; and modeling and simulation.

Job Description:

Our elite team integrates complex technology, debugging and resolving interface issues as we produce, demonstrate and deliver state-of-the-art software for areas including radars, command and control platforms, missile systems and cyber defense. As an integrator you will learn the design principles of new systems by attending design reviews to determine their architecture, operations and interfaces.

The Radar Systems Department currently has opportunities for experienced individuals with Radar functional and performance analysis including signal processing experience and skills. The Radar Systems Department supports a variety of radar programs. Explore some of the systems you may be working with as a member of our team.

Our opportunities require individuals to perform various engineering activities depending on their experience and skill level, such as system test requirements development, planning, execution, and analysis for system integration and verification in hardware-in-the-loop facilities, flight tests, and sell-off of production radar systems; technical support on-site and as reach-back for deployed sensor systems; and modeling and simulation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of Radar functional and performance data
  • Support the integration engineers with planning, design and execution of integration and verification tests for hardware and software modifications
  • Perform analysis that supports flight test planning, execution
  • Assist integration engineers with preparing test cases
  • Update the engineering test environment for use by the hardware, software and systems test teams including configuration management of hardware, software and firmware
  • Assist with integration and test activities at the specified CONUS location
  • Support Acceptance Testing and DD250 of radar

This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or Salary Grade G08 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math or other related engineering discipline plus minimum of 2 years’ relevant engineering experience.
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Must have experience with 3 or more of the following areas:

  • Experience as a radar systems engineer with one or more of the following; analyzing radar data, analyzing or designing radar specific algorithms, developing radars or radar sub-systems
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering role that includes radar or signal performance analysis or test of DoD systems
  • Experience with analyzing radar systems, performance or algorithms
  • Experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity X-Band radar technology
  • Experience with root cause analysis of radar systems and interoperability
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline
  • Understanding of radar signal and data processing
  • Strong MATLAB knowledge and experience
  • Experience with DOORS or related database
  • Well organized with the ability to work independently or in a team environment

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related discipline with 4 years of related experience.
