ERM is seeking an experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Transaction Services practice in Singapore. You will be responsible for consulting on Sustainable Finance/Transaction Services related projects, providing technical thought leadership to continually develop our service offering, and developing trusted advisor relationships with clients, including commercial & development banks and private equity companies. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and enjoy working with collaborative, cross-functional teams.

Transactions Services in brief:

ERM understands that every transaction presents a unique set of environmental, health & safety, and sustainability risks and liabilities which require rapid and rigorous assessment as part of the due diligence process. We provide critical, confidential, and time-sensitive advice on these risks and opportunities to assist companies execute and maximise value from their transactions. ERM’s Transaction Services team provides unrivalled global capabilities and in-depth understanding across the financial, commercial, industrial, and extractive sectors.

Our key services include:

  • EHS and social due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, capital raising and project finance;
  • Post-financial close environmental and social monitoring of projects on behalf of lenders;
  • Phase I environmental site assessments to support property transfer transactions;
  • Post-merger integration support;
  • Development and implementation of ESG frameworks and environmental & social management systems (ESMS); and
  • Environmental and social performance benchmarking.

ROLE PROFILE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage and contribute to transactions services projects and proposals;
  • Prepare technical reports and clearly communicate key findings and their business implications to clients;
  • Build effective working relationships within project teams, discipline groups and business units, and work collaboratively;
  • Continually improve your consultancy and communication skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision; and
  • Willingness to travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant degree, for example environmental science or engineering;
  • At least five years’ experience, with a proven track record in transactions services / EHS due diligence work in particular;
  • EHS experience within consulting or finance sector is preferred;
  • A good understanding of international EHS standards, including the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, with attention to detail; and
  • Conversant in Microsoft applications.
