ERM Japan

Since the establishment of our Japan office in 1999 we have been the consultancy of choice for private and public sector clients. We have introduced best-in-industry practices and innovative ideas into the region helping clients to deal with sustainability challenges and to identify and reduce risks, cut costs and enhance both brand and image. Working alongside ERM’s global resources and decades of experience working with government and both local and multinational companies, we are well positioned to help clients keep abreast of the latest environmental trends and shape sustainability strategy to build competitive advantage. Japan office is currently rebuilding the service offerings and revamp the business strategy for further growth in Japan market. We are working with large Japanese multinational clients for various services including environmental and social impact assessment, and due diligence, and soil and groundwater remediation.

As Partner, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting on a range of EHS&S services to build a sustainable business locally for ERM Japan while networking with ERM's regional and global team to share best practices across the industry.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Client account development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s EHS & S (Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability) consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients.
  • Actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy.
  • Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
  • Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.
  • Manage capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.
  • Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Support the growth and development of ERM’s services and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the service to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years of Environmental consulting experience with significant clients in EHS & S services within Japan market or Asia Pacifc.
  • Possess a diverse client portfolio which includes clients from the hi-tech, oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or food and beverage markets.
  • BS/MS in environmental science or engineering, social sciences, planning, geography, or related field.
  • In-depth understanding of the industry and the companies operating in the EHS & S sector, including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
  • Prior working experience in Japan in Environmental Consulting sector.
  • Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese.
