ERM VIETNAM:

ERM has been working in Vietnam since 1993, and in order to meet the growing needs throughout the region opened an office in Ha Noi in 1998. In 2002 we relocated to its current location in Ho Chi Minh City.

Our team includes both local and international consultants with the technical expertise and detailed local knowledge required to address the particular needs of the region and conduct EHS projects across Vietnam.

We work for major multinational investors in the oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, power and energy sectors, international development banks and financial intermediaries.

ERM Practice:

ERM’s Impact Assessment & Planning practice focuses on supporting development of projects in power, infrastructure, chemicals and natural resources. Our goal is always the same: assisting our clients in achieving project success, from planning through construction and operation, while meeting expectations for assessment and management of impacts on environmental, social, health and cultural resources. By helping clients bring these issues into the project planning process early, we seek to help our clients meet environmental/social performance objectives, enable savings in capital and operating costs, and avoid significant approval and other delays.

ERM combines experience with global standards, such as the Equator Principles and International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards, with a thorough understanding of local regulatory systems and cultural sensitivities. We apply state-of-the-art assessment tools, from GIS to modelling and visualization techniques. We have also developed our own Impact Assessment Standard, which we use to maintain consistency and quality when other standards do not apply in a particular situation.

ERM’s Impact Assessment & Planning practice has been ERM’s highest growth practice globally, growing over 20% per year for the past 5 years alone. The practice currently has over 1,000 professionals globally, representing the full range of technical disciplines, with sector experience across the board. What ERM’s practice is perhaps best known for, is supporting some of the most challenging development projects in the world. It is this reputation that attracts and retains the highly skilled consultants who comprise ERM’s Impact Assessment & Planning team.

ROLE PROFILE:

Leadership role in the Impact Assessment and Planning team in Vietnam including supporting the existing Management and being responsible for:

• People Management: 
• Assist in the development of a technically strong team and assist in overseeing the team’s continuous improvement through mentoring and assisting with their practice networks around ERM, 
• Improve or maintain development, training, engagement and retention of staff,
• Improve collaboration opportunities of team members across the BU practices and show clear personal involvement in regional practices,
• Create a culture around H&S that leads to incident free operations, and
• Assist the Leadership team in mentoring team members to become effective HSE consultants in the future.
• Business development and client management, in particular in relation to ERM’s Impact Assessment and Planning related offering and calibrating and executing a business strategy that is aimed to grow ERM’s work in this area in Vietnam.
• Project Management of complex technical work & inter-disciplinary work to international standards and deliver commitments made to clients (internal and external) and ERM team members, in line with ERM standards and expectations
• Technical Guidance, in particular as Technical Reviewer of current and potential projects deliverables and provide sound technical inputs in the development and continuous improvement of ERM Impact Assessment and Planning, Transaction Services (IAP, TS) related works that are in line with industry best practices and applicable local and international regulatory requirements. This includes being knowledgeable of and keeping up to date with EHSS regulations in Vietnam and international standards in the relevant industrial sectors (O&G and power are advantages)
• Others:
• Provide multidisciplinary overview and oversight with regards to the preparation of environmental, social and health impact assessments, management plans development and implementation of management plans as required;
• Oversee the delivery of all works undertaken by the Impact Assessment, Planning and Social Consulting Team
• Support the day to day management, budgeting, resourcing and recruitment for the IAP Team

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:

• At least BSc HSE or relevant topic. Masters holder is preferable
• Have over 10 years of work experience in consulting (experience in Oil & Gas and/or Power sector company and Vietnam / South East Asia experience is highly desirable)
• Expertise in Impact Assessment with deep understanding of international standards and practices
• Excellence in Project Management
• Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.
• Demonstrable track record in delivering sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
• Proven experience mentoring and growing a team of consultants.
