We have an exciting opportunity at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre’s Training Centre for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to support and inspire our learners.

You will be part of a group of Trainers who provide vital teaching to our apprentices so that they successfully complete their apprenticeships with the practical skills needed to perform in their roles. We currently have over 500 apprentices in learning, either undertaking training at the AMRC or developing their skills in industry. You will be required to deliver Welding and Fabrication based training in the workshop and will be responsible for the curriculum development, delivery and assessment of the engineering training for both the apprenticeship and technical pathways.

You will be:

  • Qualified to Level 3 in engineering (BTEC/NVQ/C&G/HNC) and/or relevant experience.
  • Possess significant experience of technical work in an engineering setting
  • Hold a teaching qualification or have a willingness to undertake such a qualification on start.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of delivering presentations, communicating to staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving.

The AMRC Training Centre is part of the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). Our cutting-edge Training Centre is an amazing place, with state of the art machinery and technology, teaching rooms and learning areas. As well as advanced apprenticeships, we also deliver higher education courses, including engineering degree apprenticeships, leadership training up to MBA level, and technical qualifications to help engineers improve their skills.
