Job Description:
Skills & Competencies:
- Typically 0 to 2 years of experience in software development or a related field of applications on the IBM Mainframe, z/OS.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in computer science (BS).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Assembler and/or Java
- Knowledge of HLASM, REXX, JCL, TSO, ISPF is advantage.
- Communications and organization skills.
- Teamwork skills.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
- Demonstrates high personal integrity and ability to earn trust from others.
- Demonstrates a growth mind-set, often seeks for feedback, and is effective in continuous personal and professional development.
- Participating in self-directed learning activities aimed at developing deep expertise within technical domain, including reading relevant publications, participating in domain forums or groups etc.
Responsibilities:
- Coding non-complex modules that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
- Perform unit/module testing of software.
- Participate in test plan reviews.
- Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers.
- Fix bugs, add enhancements.
- Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
- Work within a self-directed Agile team, learn from team members and assigned mentor, commit to work and contribute to the outcome.
- Learn the principles behind the Agile Manifesto in all interactions.
- Employ continuous learning, build domain expertise.
- Escalate issues to management as appropriate.
