GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

A Technical Consultant works across teams to stand up new systems, and extend/customise existing systems. The job mixes software development expertise with knowledge of the digital marketing business. It is a fully hands-on role focusing on direct delivery of client billable work, in conjunction with the project management team and solution architects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be tasked with creating standard projects and solutions, that maximize the use of standard features of our technology, and minimize creation of special cases and once-only customizations. You will work with the delivery teams to ensure that the right work is being delivered, and will also work with the business to guide and educate on the correct way to position our solutions. You will bring a strong technical consulting background and will be tasked with conducting technical customer/prospect discovery sessions, driving the design of solutions, and presenting those solutions in the form of presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs) and ensuring that these are reusable by as many customers as possible. You will work with a global team delivering to a high standard and focusing on technical work to onboard our customers quickly and effectively.

1. Implement scalable, secure and high performing SaaS applications.
2. Perform the technical onboarding of new customers
3. Display/develop an understanding of email marketing technology and advertising.
4. Design and Coding of web pages, forms, ETL scripts – web production and other software deliverables.
5. Step in to provide Technical Support to customers as required.
6. Work closely with Enterprise Architects and Technical Owners to develop applications aligned with the Mapp business strategy.
7. Collaborate on cross-functional agile teams that include Product Owners, QA Engineers and fellow DevOps Software Engineers to implement the next generation of Mapp applications.
8. Stay abreast of technology trends and industry best practices to hone and maintain your talent.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Proficiency in managing projects including scope, scheduling, and change management in a project management or customer service role
2. Fluent English speaker
3. Data analysis
4. Detailed understanding of email marketing and digital advertising and associated KPIs
5. Ability to interpret, drive, and support customer vision and thinking
6. Exceptional time management skills & flexibility in working hours
7. Technical writing competency; ability to create technical specifications/blueprints and solutionsorientated project proposals
8. Ability to identify and help mitigate risks and issues
9. Strong interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills
10. Training and mentoring skills, as well as ability to self-study
11. BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field;
12. 3-5 years developing web applications in a highly transparent agile organization with iterations, continuous integration and a drive for quality;
13. Experience with PHP is required (or any other programming language);
14. Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery is required;
15. Experience with any of XML, APIs, Web Services, Web Forms, RSS, FTP is required.
16. Experience with Java/JSP/JSTL, Object Oriented programming is preferred;
17. Experience with PERL, Python is preferred;
18. Experience with SQL database (understanding databases/writing queries) is preferred;
19. Experience using Google Cloud (alternatively AWS) to deploy and maintain software applications is preferred;
20. Experience designing and implementing SaaS highly available, scalable, secure and multi-tenant applications;
21. Proven ability to design and implement web services in a RESTful manner, along with understanding our broader service-oriented architectures;
22. Proven ability to work within a cross functional agile team;
23. Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives;
24. Able to use tools such as JIRA, Git, Kibana, etc. preferred;
