Software Engineer

We are seeking a motivated, passionate software engineer to join our Mainframe Resource Intelligence (MRI) team. MRI is a cloud-based offering that analyzes mainframe environments to help customers optimize capacity, usage, and security. In this role, you will be a key member of the R&D engineering team which focuses on coding, building, testing and deploying a cloud offering. Your role will be as a software developer for the MRI cloud application.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, implement and test units/modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
Create unit tests and perform functional testing of software to find bugs and confirm that delivered software meets specifications and quality requirements.
Develop and style front-end interfaces, and integrate with back-end services
Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
Work with UX designers and technical writers to implement functionality with a modern user experience
Fix internal and customer defects, and add minor enhancements.
Work with technical leads to refine requirements and establish guardrails, and exercise judgment to accomplish well-defined goals.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

At minimum, Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computing or related field
2-5 years of experience in software engineering
Natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge
Experience in front and back-end software development
Strong skills in at least one modern programming language
Analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and systems thinking
A TDD approach to software development
Strong interest and/or experience in Cloud technologies
Understanding of DevOps and Agile
Professional level of English (written and spoken)

BONUS REQUIREMENTS

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Angular and Node JS
Experience with web security
Experience with document and graph databases
